Job: Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) Mechanic – Contract Position

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Conduct installation, maintenance, repair and/or replacement of defective components on light motor vehicles
• Perform preventative maintenance based on predetermined service schedules.
• Carry out fault finding and diagnostic test of engines, transmission and drive trains
• Build and repair diesel engines
• Attending to vehicle breakdowns
• Maintain shop tools and equipment in good, safe and clean working order, and report deficiencies

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• The applicant should possess a degree in Automotive Mechanical Engineering or related qualification
• Must currently be employed as Light Motor Vehicle Mechanic with a minimum five years work experience
• Possess prior work experience on Ford Ranger pick-up trucks
• Excellent problem solving, diagnostic and fault finding skills.
• The applicant should hold a valid local driver’s license
• Basic knowledge of human resource management and supervision
