Uganda law reform commission
Applications are invited from suitable and eligible
Ugandans to fi ll the post of Commissioner currently available at Uganda Law Reform Commission.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:-
The Commissioner will be responsible for performing the following indicative duties: 1. Heading the Law Revision department; 2. Proposing programmes for law revision for approval by the Commission; 3. Planning and reviewing work programmes for the law revision department for approval by the Commission; 4. Coordinating activities of the department with other Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies; 5. Carrying out sensitization of stakeholders on activities of the Commission; 6. Developing work plans and budgets for the department; 7. Implementing and appraising national development strategies and projects in relation to Law Revision; 8. Supervising, directing and evaluating performance of subordinate staff of the department; 9. Providing professional leadership in the department; 10. Overseeing staff development strategies; 11. Monitoring and evaluating the implementation of departmental activities; 12. Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time. |
Requirement:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND WORKING EXPERIENCE: 1. Applicants should be Ugandans who meet the following requirements:- - An honours bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognised University and a diploma in legal practice from Law Development Centre.- A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant working experience, two (2) of which should be at the level of Assistant Commissioner in Government or equivalent experience from a reputable organisation. 2. Possession of Computer skills is desirable. 3. Knowledge of project planning and management is desirable 4. A relevant Masters’ degree will be an added advantage.. |
