Job: Stores Manager

About Us:
Our Client is the leading producer of quality steel products in Uganda, with far reaching influence across the East African region and is seeking to recruit a result driven and motivated individual for the vacancy above.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Access all requisitions and ensure timely Purchase of Authorized Orders.
  • Compare and contrast quotations received and get the most competitive supplier.
  • Ensure purchase of right quality and quantity as per the placed orders.
  • Ensure all invoices are sent to accounts and follow up for their payments.
  • Maintain all suppliers’ records for assessment.
  • Manage sub-contracts and repair work.
  • Generate accurate and timely reports.
  • Receive and check all goods purchased and make comparisons with the local purchase order.
  • Maintain records and check all receipts and stock bin cards.
  • Ensure all store items are labeled as per the classification.
  • Maintain daily records as per daily stock verification
  • Make timely orders for spares and consumables as the stock reaches minimum order level.
  • Advice Management for any necessary improvement in stock management.
  • Note expiry dates of all items and ensure perishables are consumed within a limited time.
  • Supervise directly works of all manpower under your section.
  • Or any other job that might arise with urgency from the Plant Manager.
  • To ensure proper accountability of all material entering the factory.
  • Transport & logistics management
  • Maintain and submit on monthly basis a report on insurance claims clearly indicating what has been lodged and what is pending for settlement.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The job holder should possess a Bachelors of Stores Management or Bachelors of Supply chains/ Logistics Management.
  • Engineering background is an added advantage.
