Job Purpose: The Child Protection Specialist will be responsible for the planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation of the programme interventions aimed at reducing the vulnerability of children to violence, abuse and exploitation through identification and registration to birth of children under the age of five as well as orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) within the “Keep Children Safe” multi sectored programme. The incumbent will provide technical support and guidance to the Country Office and Government authorities at national and sub-national level for acceleration and technical content of the identification and birth registration project activities and coordinate high level advocacy; Participate in intersectoral collaboration with other programmes to ensure linkage and prepare programme status reports as required.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant should hold an advanced University Degree in Law, International Human Rights, Social Sciences/Social Welfare, or a first level University degree in combination with at least five years of relevant qualifying experience in a related technical field.
- Five years of progressively responsible professional work experience at the national level in programme management, monitoring and evaluation, in a related field.
- Experience in OVC, Birth and Death registration programming is an asset
- Fluency in English is required and strong written and verbal communications skill therein strongly desirable.
