For this position, we are seeking Community Service Assistants (CSA) who are motivated by the opportunity to expand a program with proven impact, potential to improve the health of millions and save thousands of lives. The CSA positions are primarily based in the field. They will play an important role as the interface between DSW and communities in setting up and running the chlorine dispenser system in targeted communities in Eastern Uganda.
The CSA will have the following responsibilities;
1. Dispenser Installation: High quality chlorine dispenser installations. Maintaining schedules and complete the agreed chlorine dispenser installations on time. Ensure all the required installation materials/tools are carried to the field and appropriately used and accounted for. Filling in the required forms in hard copy
2. Chlorine delivery: Carrying out deliveries of chlorine to the water points. Filling up all of the chlorine delivery forms in hard copy and an electronic version on a smart phone.
3. Survey enumeration: Conduct spot checks and promoter surveys at selected water points.
4. Dispenser Hardware Maintenance: Visit water points to ensure that the chlorine dispenser system is fully functional. Recommend course of action for maintenance and carry out repairs when necessary.
5. Record Keeping: Complete relevant forms and records to the highest standard.
6. Community Relationships: Create and maintain productive working relationships with community members and community leader.
7. Motorcycle Usage: Use allocated motorcycle efficiently and only on work related duties. Ensure allocated motorcycle is well maintained and clean. Adhering to motorbike use policy and guidelines.

Qualifications
• A good understanding of motorcycle service and maintenance; the applicants must be experienced motorcycle riders with a valid driving license;
• At least one year of relevant knowledge and experience in masonry work;
• Critical thinking and judgment; be able to make good decisions in field and office situations
• High-level discipline and good character while engaging with promoters and other community leaders, program teams and managers;
• Demonstrated good computer skills and smart phone skills preferred;
• Passion to work in a rural community setting;
• The candidates are required to have completed at minimum of an Ordinary Level Certificate and other technical qualifications are preferred;
• Good communication skills, both written and oral. The applicants should be able to communicate in English and Luganda. Lugisu and Lugwere are preferred.
