logistics officer – strides Project
overall responsibilities
a) Responsible for providing strategic guidance, establishing and overseeing a functional logistics/store management system and supervising the operations and management of the stores.
b) She/ he will ensure that STRIDES donations such as long lasting insecticide treated nets (LLINs), hygiene kits and medical equipment are managed and systematically distributed across STRIDES collaborating districts.
c) In collaboration with the M&E unit, ensure that logistics data including distribution and client information is entered in a central data base, analyzed and reported on a monthly basis.
d) Ensure the maintenance of an updated STRIDES asset register and submit regular reports using MSH standard formats.
e) Prepare a project assets disposition plan and support its implementation.
f) Develop a distribution strategy which should include a description of how distribution of donated equipment/supplies and project assets will be handled from the stores to the intended beneficiaries.
Qualifications:
1) Degree in Procurement and Logistics, Business Studies/Administration, preferably with Stores Management option, CIPS is an added advantage,
2) Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position within a busy organization,
3) Excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to interact professionally with clients and stakeholders,
4) Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs particularly Word & Excel,
5) Firm understanding and sense of importance of attention to details.
