Senior Officer Child Rights Governance (01 position)
Duty Station; Kampala
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Area Manager, Central, the Senior Officer takes overall responsibility for the technical implementation of the local level CRG thematic programme in the region; and participates in national level activities including supporting synergy between and linking up local and national level activities. The Senior Officer may be called upon as and when necessary to support the emergency team in cases of humanitarian crisis.
Academic back ground, Experience & Person Specifications;
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in social sciences, social work and social administration, development studies, law, or any relevant field with specific experience or training on the Child Rights Governance and Child Rights Programming. Post Graduate training in Project Management and Community Development is an added advantage.
- At least 3 years implementing programmes with strong linkage to the CRC, child rights governance and child rights programming preferably with International NGOs.
General specifications applicable to all positions;
- Experience of working with local partners and District Local Government in Child Rights Governance, Health, Nutrition, Education, HIV/AIDS or Child Protection is an added advantage.
- Strong analytical skills and strategic planning abilities.
- Ability to establish and maintain conducive collegial relations and perform effectively as a member of a team.
- Willingness to travel and work in hard-to-reach areas, occasionally under strenuous conditions.
- Computer literacy and excellent documentation skills are a must.
- Availability and willingness to work extra hours during times of humanitarian responses.
- Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures

- Ability to intervene with crisis management or troubleshooting as necessary.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching
