Uganda Investment Authority (UIA), set up under the Investment Code 1991 is a statutory agency mandated to initiate and support measures that enhance investment in Uganda and to advise Government on appropriate policies conducive forinvestment promotion and growth.UIA invites applications from suitably qualifi ed candidates to fi ll the following vacant posts

JOB TITLE: INSPECTOR OF WORKS (One post)

Reporting to: Director, Land Development Division.
Main purpose of the job: To offer construction management services, oversee provision &maintenance of functional infrastructure and land development in Industrial Parks.

Main duties and responsibilities:
a) Initiate and facilitate the administration of the procurement process for works services and goods required in the Industrial Parks;
b) Develop basic engineering designs terms of reference for procurement of civil and other infrastructure works for Uganda Investment Authority;
c) Supervise the construction of designated approved buildings and infrastructure services in the Industrial Parks
d) Monitor and appraise management on the status of UIA physical infrastructure;
e) Inspect utilities and infrastructure to ensure that necessary repairs are carried out.
f) Supervise and inspect the construction of water supply and sewerage facilities in designated Industrial parks.
g) Supervise and over see the extension of power in the industrial parks.
Critical Outputs:
• Serviced infrastructure in industrial parks constructed to specifi cations schedule and within budget;
• Functional building and services constructed according to approved building plans; Functional utilities in the Industrial Parks
Person Specifications
• Bachelors Degree Civil Engineering or equivalent from a recognized university and
• Postgraduate Degree in Civil Engineering or related (such as Project Planning Management, Land Economics, Urban Planning, Environmental Engineering or an MBA (Management) etc..) from a recognized institution;• Formal training in Contracts Management from a reputable institution;
• Professional qualifications /training in Urban Planning, Construction/Project Management, Architecture, Engineering is an added advantage;
• 5 years work experience in Construction Management in a reputable institution.;
• Knowledge of Government of Uganda Procurement procedures; Must be a registered Engineer with the Uganda Engineers Registration Board.

JOB TITLE: REVENUE ACCOUNTANT (One post)

Reporting to: Deputy Director, Finance
Main purpose of the job: Monitoring of accounts payable and receivable.
Main duties and responsibilities: 
a) Responsible for the proper coding and reconciliation of all individual client accounts.
b) Identify and resolve all discrepancies identified in revenue reconciliations.
c) Create, review and maintain monthly client invoices.
d) Monitoring, collecting and resolving accounts receivable aging items.
e) Assist in the processing of daily cash receipts, as necessary.
f) Prepare monthly revenue reports
Person Specifications:
• A degree or diploma in the field of Accounting.
• A minimum of two years experience in accounting or finance.
• Profi ciency with Microsoft Offi ce applications.
• Good working knowledge of accounting packages

JOB TITLE: INVESTMENT EXECUTIVE, ICT

Reporting to: Senior Investment Executive, ICT

Main purpose of the job:

Responsible for system and network administration
Main duties and responsibilities:
a) Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications;
b) monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks;
c) troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults;
d) providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports;
e) following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system;
f) supporting the roll-out of new applications;
g) setting up new users’ accounts and profi les and dealing with password issues;
Person Specifications:
• Bachelors’ degree (at least a second upper) in Computer Science or Information Technology from a reputable Institution.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) is an added advantage.
• Two years experience in a busy corporate setting.
• Proficiency in programming languages and graphics design.
• Working knowledge of Linux Operating System.
• Working knowledge of the Joomla Content Management System.
• Network (LAN and WAN) design, configuration and maintenance.
• Computer repair and maintenance.
• User support and training.
JOB TITLE: ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, ICT
Reporting to: Investment Executive ICT
Main purpose of the job: Responsible for User Support
Person Specifications Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Information
Technology or the Equivalent from a recognized Institution
• One years’ experience in a similar or related job
• Configuration of the OmniPCX system.
• Working knowledge of the Joomla Content Management System.
• Network (LAN and WAN) design, configuration and maintenance.
• Computer repair and maintenance.
• User support and training.
• Data entry.
