Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- Provide commercial leadership, direction and support in creating, optimizing and protecting the value of Tullow’s interests in Uganda.
- Lead and manage the Uganda Commercial Team to provide timely commercial advice, negotiation support and delivery of robust commercial solutions/arrangements to achieve the Lake Albert Basin development objectives through the commercialization of proven hydrocarbon resources.
- Lead the Commercial Team in providing sound and timely strategic, commercial and economic guidance and advice in support of the Uganda Business short, medium and long term objectives.
- Manage all commercial activities related to Tullow’s operated and non-operated interests in Uganda.
- Support the Uganda Leadership Team’s succession plan in the Commercial Section through coaching and mentoring.
- Assist the General Manager and Leadership Team in the delivery of the Business Objectives.
- Technically support the Regional Commercial – East Africa Manager in the delivery of Tullow’s East Africa commercial objectives.
Essential Requirements:
- The Tullow Commercial Manager should possess a good University Degree in Commercial Studies (Finance, Economics, Business etc), Law, or a relevant Technical Degree e.g. Engineering, Geology etc.
- At least ten years’ work related experience in the upstream oil industry.
- Prior experience in all phases of the E&P lifecycle.
- Experience in delivery of high value upstream commercial transactions and closure of E&P contractual arrangements.
- Prior experience in leading or playing a key support role in the delivery of commercialization options for single or multiple high value oil and gas developments.
- Experience in managing joint ventures, regulatory, commercial operations and commercial assurance.
- Working knowledge of upstream economic value drivers and analysis.
- Working knowledge of financing and project financing of upstream, midstream and downstream projects.
- Possess excellent communication skills, both internal and external.
- Possession of a Master’s Degree preferably in Business or a MBA is an added advantage.
- Prior experience in Sub Saharan Africa.
- Strong leadership and motivational skills.
- Cultural awareness and ability to influence.
