FHI 360 — Uganda is seeking qualified candidates for the Communication for Healthy Communities (CHC) five year program designed to support the GOU and partners to design and implement quality heath communication interventions to contribute to reduction in HIV Infections, total fertility, maternal & child mortality, malnutrition, malaria & tuberculosis. CHC aims to achieve this through the use of innovative approaches, capacity strengthening, increased collaboration among partners, and rigorous research and knowledge management for health communication.

Job Summary: The Regional Communication Officer (RCO) will coordinate day-to-day implementation of health communication activities at the regional, district and community level.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Offer health communication (HC) technical support to all the implementing partners, CBOs, MARPs, creative partners, and radio stations
  • Technically support review, field tests and customizing integrated campaign materials to reflect regional contexts.
  • Support the process of identifying, training and supervising community campaign champions and MARPS, linking supply and demand side communication.
  • Support districts, implementing partners and CBOs to implement HC strategies and activities.
  • Document and monitor HC activities and develop success stories mu a regular basis.
  • Develop activity reports and participate in developing quarterly and annual reports.
  • Perform any other duties as instructed

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
  • The candidate should possess a bachelor's degree in communication, social sciences, public health or related field with 3 years' experience in health communication, community mobilization or advocacy.
  • Past working experience working with districts, implementing partners and local leaders.
  • Experience with health communication (Hand community mobilization.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a high volume work flow
  • Computer literacy skills i.e. proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (and at least one key regional language
