Description
The Job holder will structure and, manage the growth of the business of the Company, expand the market reach and improve revenue generation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The Manager Business Development will be responsible for guiding the overall marketing strategy for the Company including:-
- Ensuring the growth of the business in tandem with agreed targets.
- Spearheading policies for attraction new clients.
- Designing strategies for client retention.
- Ensuring quality improvements in service provision and delivery.
- Conducting market research and recommending to Management appropriate intervention measures.
- Spearheading the soliciting, design and implementation of the sales and marketing plans.
- Coordinating sales promotions.
- Coordinating and supporting the implementation of projects in the Company to ensure value for money and compliance with relevant regulations and protocols.
Coordinating and leading the department including:
- Taking responsibility for the overall performance of the department.
- Supervising staff of the department.
- Representing the department in Company meetings and other fora.
- Drawing the budget and work plans of the department.
- Providing guidance and support to contracts management.
- Providing support to business related procurements.
- Coordinating business growth and expansion projects.
- Supervising Staff engaged by the Company to execute business development related tasks.
Managing the Department business including:
- Ensuring that the department achieves its goals and financial targets.
- Scanning the local and external environment for business opportunities and conducting market surveys to determine business trends.
- Net working with other organizations to enable the Company to develop strong institutional partnership in the consultancy field.
- Setting performance standards for all staff engaged in business expansion programs, and establishing procedures and strategies for undertaking new business.
- Managing or coordinating business projects undertaken by the Company.
- Mentoring staff and promoting their skills development.
- Writing quality reports.
Performing other duties as may become necessary for the smooth running of the Department or Company as a whole.
Key Results Areas:
- Managing business growth and marketing strategy.
- Designating new strategies for client recruitment and retention.
- Managing the Departmental budget.
- Preparing reports on Marketing and Business Research and surveys carried out.
- Establishing communication channels with customers and attracting new business.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The candidate should possess a Bachelors in Commerce or Economics (Hons) and Master’s Degree in Business Administration (marketing/PPM) from a recognized University/ Institution.
- Relevant professional qualifications will have an added advantage
- The applicant should have ten (10) post qualification hands on experience gained in Public Sector five (5) of which should be at senior level.
- Five years’ experience in managing projects, procurements and consultancy contracts in a Public Sector.
