Job Summary: The Research, Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator for the GWI EA program will mainly implement and develops further the Regional Research Framework (RRF) and M&E Strategy (MES).
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Responsible for the implementation of the GWI EA RRF through support to the development and implementation of analytical methods and analysis of results at a country and regional level
  • Technical guidance in the establishment of institutional research linkages at both national and regional levels, including dissemination of results and establishment of research collaboration
  • Offer support to the development of national Learning Hubs and a Regional Learning Platform, including, where relevant, joint activity development with regional research institutes and other institutions
  • Development of our Learning and Practice Alliance approach and methodology, including supporting internal learning within CARE USA and other partners within and beyond CARE
  • Liaison with Programme Quality and Learning teams in all three countries to ensure compliance and coordination on M&E approaches and sharing of information on improved learning approaches
  • Development of learning materials with the Communication Coordinator and support to wider communications activities, particularly relating to the management and development of the GWI EA media hub
  • Steer the implementation of the Outcome Mapping approach and other M&E data collection and analysis within the GWI project, supporting national teams to deliver against agreed targets
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The Research, Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator for the Global Water Initiative – East Africa (GWI EA) should possess a Masters degree or a postgraduate diploma  in any humanities field, with a specialization in development studies, rural development, Information Systems, Agriculture economics, Monitoring and Evaluation for results, Development Economics, Population studies,  MBA (Project Planning & Management option preferable or other related social science)
  • At least three to five years’ experience since graduation in research, learning processes and monitoring and evaluation activities
  • Demonstrated excellence in verbal (and particularly written) English and an ability to communicate effectively at all levels – from local communities to international events
  • Good working knowledge of both qualitative and quantitative research techniques
  • Experience of living and working in Uganda and/or other East African countries an advantage
  • Extensive knowledge of agricultural water management and rural development issues, with a specific gender focus on East Africa is desirable
  • Good understanding of action research approaches and experience of Outcome Mapping important
  • Computer proficiency skills i.e. usability skills in standard software packages, plus skills in statistical packages desirable
  • Demonstrable team-working skills and a firm commitment to gender equality, sensitivity to HIV/AIDS, conceptual understanding of participatory approaches and sustainable development are required
  • Knowledge of any additional East African language would be an advantage
  • Ability to live and work in Uganda

Africa Development Corps (ADC), formerly known as Visions in Action, is an international NGO based out of Washington DC, working in relief and development throughout Africa. Over the past 23 years we have been involved in the implementation of a wide range of humanitarian activities in countries such as Uganda, Tanzania, South Africa and Liberia. In particular, ADC has implemented development and relief programs in the areas of HIV/AIDS, education, youth development and food security.
Our current programming in Uganda focuses upon book distribution, library construction and teacher training in rural areas. We do this, firstly and foremost, by providing new English textbooks received from donors to schools throughout Uganda. Also, we aim to foster a culture of reading in individual villages and communities, as well as train teachers on how to establish and run school libraries.

  • Boost the social media impact of ADC both in Uganda, but also on an international level; facebook, twitter, youtube, instagram etc
  • Write blogs detailing ADC’s work to be posted on our website and social media pages
  • Take photos/videos of current projects and share these through different media streams in order to increase awareness of our work
  • Assist in the upgrade of our current website and keep this up to date with current activities
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  
  • The ideal candidate must be a fresh graduate
  • The Intern should possess experience and qualification in computer programming and/or website design and/or computer related studies programme
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and time constraints to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work without supervision to accomplish set targets

Uganda Christian University was founded when the historic Bishop Tucker Theological College was promoted as a university in 1997. Bishop Tucker Theological College trained clergy and educators during its 84-year history from 1913-1997. The local chief, Hamu Mukasa, granted land for the college to operate in Mukono. International partnerships were part of the College’s missionary history. The Church Mission Society teamed with Ugandan leaders and others to assure the College had the necessary intellectual and other capital.   • The Library Attendants must hold Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) A-level certificate

Job Summary: The Data Officers will mainly be responsible for data generation/creation & collection, updating, maintenance and validation of the clinical databases and for the provision and distribution of computerized reports from this data. The jobholders will also ensure data review, computerization, cleaning and auditing of clinical data and data bases in compliance with standard operating procedures, client guidelines and applicable regulatory guidelines.

  • The prospective Data Officers should hold a Bachelors Degree in Statistics, Information management, Social Science, epidemiology and Public health

About ADC:
Africa Development Corps (ADC), formerly known as Visions in Action, is an international NGO based out of Washington DC, working in relief and development throughout Africa. Over the past 23 years we have been involved in the implementation of a wide range of humanitarian activities in countries such as Uganda, Tanzania, South Africa and Liberia. In particular, ADC has implemented development and relief programs in the areas of HIV/AIDS, education, youth development and food security.
Our current programming in Uganda focuses upon book distribution, library construction and teacher training in rural areas. The program aims to facilitate pupil’s transition from learning in local languages to learning in English. We do this, firstly and foremost, by providing new English textbooks received from donors to schools throughout Uganda. Also, we aim to foster a culture of reading in individual villages and communities, as well as train teachers on how to establish and run school libraries.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  
  • The ideal candidate must be a fresh graduate
  • The Intern should possess experience and qualification in computer programming and/or website design and/or computer related studies programme

About CDC MoH Project: 
The Ministry of Health (MoH) has received funds to support a five-year Cooperative Agreement; (CoAg) with the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The Cooperative Agreement will support HIV prevention, care and treatment, policy development, strategic information and the current National Laboratory Strategic Plan. The MOH intends to use some of the resources under this assistance to support several technical positions in support of the AIDS Control Program (ACP), Central Public National-TB and Leprosy Program (NTLP) and other Cross-cutting Health Systems Strengthening efforts at MoH to execute the central function of policy formulation and monitoring implementation.
Job Summary:  The Call Centre Manager will steer, guide, manage and develop, cost effective, performance measured and pro-active Call Management Service for the CDC Ministry of Health project.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Developing and implementing call center policies, procedures and service standards
  • Steering the activities of the call center operators on day to day basis as well as ensuring the proper functioning of the call center
  • Determining work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow to meet demand
  • Building capacity of all the call center operators
  • Rigorously tracking call volume, reporting discrepancies and areas that need improvement
  • Drafting monthly reports on the hotline performance
  • Identifying process and procedural issues that are barriers to meeting demand and achieving a quality service
  • Staying updated with the health care delivery policy framework, guidelines and standards
  • Ensuring high level of confidentiality and ethical conduct as mandated by the organization
  • Monitoring, diagnosing and projecting the demand/call trends in order to ensure the necessary planning and development of the function continues to meet the desired objectives
  • Charged with the development, delivery and analysis of appropriate management information in order to inform decision making and planning to deliver optimum performance.
  • Collecting the toll free line success stories and lessons learned
  • Regularly consult with service users both internal and external in order to respond to service needs and ensure continuous improvements
  • Promoting the demand management function to raise public awareness of appropriate means of contact to the Ministry
  • Developing and maintaining links both locally and nationally to foster closer waiting relationships with Implementing Partners and Local Communities
  • Providing professional/specialist advice and guidance to Clients
  • Collecting data through soliciting client feedback and analyses this data that helps in making evidence-based decision for behavior change communication
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The Call Centre Manager should ideally possess an Honours Degree in Biostatistics, IT, ICT, Statistics or related discipline from a recognized University or Institution.
  • Possess three or more years’ working experience in HMIS or related field at national, regional or district level.
  • Excellent Problem Solving skills
  • High Teamwork and Interpersonal skills
  • Good customer care skills
  • Be a good listener with good oral Communication skills
  • Exhibit high work performance consistently at work and always on time

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Coordinates personal computer hardware and software troubleshooting, installation, repair, problem diagnosis, and implementation.
  • Offers support in the processes, by which requests and inquiries related to computing, local area networks, wide area networks, host systems communications are received, screened, prioritized, and resolved.
  • Installs, tests, and maintains a variety of computers and network hardware and software systems; performs diagnostic tests, modifies or repairs hardware to the board or component level;
  • Collects and records appropriate data related to these functions.
  • Maintains a high level of personal computer knowledge and assists in the recommendation processes for computing hardware, software systems.
  • Complies with all standards, procedures, controls, and policies as established by the Information Technology department.
  • Ensures that a complete IT inventory of supplies and parts are maintained and that all shortages are ordered in a timely manner. Keeps inventory and log of hardware/software.
  • Possess the ability to notify and escalate to proper IT groups to resolve incidents/ request.
  • Handles problem resolution, research, isolation and follow-up for routine user problems, referring more complex problems to supervisor.
  • The IT Desktop Support Officer loads specified software packages particularly operating systems, spreadsheets, word processing onto AHF computers.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The job holder must possess a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science or related fields.
  • Two or more years’ or relevant IT experience with additional training.
  • Two or more years’ experience in IT technical support with exceptional software and hardware support in a user oriented environment.
  • Prior exposure to hardware which must include Windows / DOS systems, printers, scanners, modems, peripherals and terminals / equipment.

Job Summary: The job holder will be responsible for the management of a team of engineers and supervise vendors to ensure the continuous delivery and operation of integrated business and operational support systems, which provide critical services to both MTN customers and staff.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the application support team both direct and in-direct reports and supporting vendors to provide application support and incident resolution for the wide portfolio of enterprise applications.
  • Oversee the MTN application resources and processes for multiple operations in the region.
  • Manage Business support systems (BSS) such as the Voucher Management (Scratch card management), Mobile Money, Call Centre, Loyalty & Campaigns, Business Intelligence and ERP/POS platforms for the entire organisation
  • Supervise Operational support systems (OSS) such as the Provisioning, Mediation and SOA for multiple organisations
  • Ensure that the Business Intelligence platform publishes accurate and complete subscriber and revenue reporting to be consumed by MTN Group, SEA HUB (General Management) and business units in the various operations (EXCO, Finance, Marketing, Sales, Networks)
  • Monitor performance of various systems and business services to ensure availability within agreed SLA
  • Maintain the environment to minimize/eliminate any potential revenue loss
  • Managing vendor SLAs to ensure service delivery within agreed SLAs.
  • Measure and report SLA achievement.
  • Regular vendor engagement to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Responsible for full business engagement: To ensure end-to-end business support from Application teams
  • Oversee the Evaluation; installation; configuration, testing and deployment of Applications/product and Service updates
  • Lead, motivate and develop the capability of the Application Support Team and vendor teams to achieve agreed annual targets
  • Contribute to pre-testing phase of development by evaluating proposals in order to identify potential problem areas and make appropriate recommendations
  • Manage relationships and provide necessary support to the Service Management, Infrastructure, Planning and Architecture, Demand and Network teams, assisting with quality assurance; delivery and effective operations.
  • Proactive management and monitoring to capture and resolve potential issues before they become service impacting.
  • Define, implement and operationalize effective processes and Procedures.
  • Drive to resolution open audit/revenue assurance issues/requests.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by  Senior Manager Service Delivery and Enterprise Applications.
Qualification Skills and Experience:
  • The MTN Manager Service Delivery and Enterprise Application should possess a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Software Engineering
  • Possession of a master’s degree in IT/Software Engineering an added advantage.
  • A minimum of seven to eight years’ relevant IT experience – preferably in managing IT teams, which a technical knowledge of software services; project management experience and a sound understanding of ITIL standards and best practice within operational environments
  • Three or more years’ work experience at manager level
