Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Offer technical direction and oversight from project implementation through life cycle duration
  • Supervision of all program technical team.
  • Develop maintain, and sustain strong relationship with all relevant stakeholders and project teams
  • Steer the implementation of the project and all relevant follow up
  • Manage project finances, pipelines and planning
  • Liaise with all internal and external counterparts on the project;
  • Assess the activities undertaken and ensure efficient use of resources;
  • Establish clear timeline of reports to be submitted to project Donors;
  • Responsible for all donor reporting
  • Draft narrative reports and contribute to the development of financial reports through regular budgetary follow up;
  • Ensure adherence to ACTED processes and procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with contractual obligations and achievement of project scope of work and financial goals 
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should possess a Master’s degree in civil engineering, economics or social science discipline
  • Five or more years’ experience in managing large complex infrastructure programs preferably within an African context
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly and effectively assemble and manage a highly-skilled, interdisciplinary team; ability to effectively collaborate and coordinate with and lead a broad range of governmental and non-governmental actors; the ability to manage high-profile and politically sensitive programs.
  • Possess the ability to organize and coordinate multiple projects and ensure completion of requisite milestones within established deadlines;
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and project management skills
  • Possess an excellent track record in managing large teams effectively
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills with evidence of ability to interact with a wide range and level of stakeholders (government, private sector, NGOs).
  • Past experience leading collaborative efforts with multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Excellent conceptual, analytical and writing skills
  • Excellent oral I written communication skills
  • Excellent Report writing skills
  • Highly proficient in English.
Job Terms and Conditions:
Salary defined by the ACTED salary grid; educational level, expertise, hardship, security, and performance are considered for pay bonus

The Ministry of Works and Transport operates three Regional Mechanical workshops, namely: Bugembe Workshop located in Jinja District, Mbarara Workshop located in Mbarara District and Gulu Workshop located in Gulu District.
The Regional Mechanical workshops are mandated to perform the following functions:-
  • Conduct major repair of District and Urban Roads equipment including motor graders, bulldozers, wheel loaders chain loaders, vibratory rollers, hydraulic excavators, bitumen boilers and sprayers, trucks etc.
  • Conduct major repair of their (Workshops) core equipment and vehicle
  • Render technical support and build human resource capacity of the Districts and Urban Local Governments.
  • Provide services of specialized equipment to the local Governments such as crane trucks, low loaders, mobile workshops etc.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Execute repair and all types of maintenance of heavy and light road equipments
  • Oversee and advise on the right techniques of executing works.
  • Assist in preparation of periodic progress reports for work
  • Render technical support in ensuring compliance and adherence to health and safety procedures and practices in the workshop
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The Mechanical Technician must possess an ordinary diploma or its equivalent in Automotive and Power Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least three years’ experience in the area of repair and maintenance of road construction equipment
  • Computer literacy skills will be an added advantage.

  • At least ten years’ work related experience in the upstream oil industry.
  • Prior experience in all phases of the E&P lifecycle.
  • Experience in delivery of high value upstream commercial transactions and closure of E&P contractual arrangements.
  • Prior experience in leading or playing a key support role in the delivery of commercialization options for single or multiple high value oil and gas developments.
  • Experience in managing joint ventures, regulatory, commercial operations and commercial assurance.
  • Working knowledge of upstream economic value drivers and analysis.
  • Working knowledge of financing and project financing of upstream, midstream and downstream projects.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both internal and external.
  • Possession of a Master’s Degree preferably in Business or a MBA is an added advantage.
  • Prior experience in Sub Saharan Africa.

1. Project Management and Coordination: 
  • Offer overall leadership in managing and coordinating the implementation of emergency response activities according to the project implementation and organization standards.
  • Advise and provide technical support to staff on WASH and other project interventions
  • Steer ECHO and UNHCR prepositioning tasks in line with donor requirements.
2. Project Monitoring, Documentation and Reporting:
  • Effective monitoring, documentation and reporting in compliance with Project Design standards.
  • Establish functional project level M&E system and ensure utilization of the information.
  •  Manage emergency project information and documentation processes, and ensure effective communication of the project results.
  • Provide technical guidance to Project staff in planning and preparation of detailed implementation plans and activities as well as monitoring
  • Document and share lessons learnt within the partnership on emergency response interventions.
  • Prepare and submit reports within the set time and quality standards
3. Finance Management:  
  • Monitor project budget in line with WVU Financial and Project standards.
  • Responsible for asset management - manage Project assets in line with assets and other policy and set guidelines.
4. Performance management and Supervision:
  • Manage, supervise and build capacity of staff in project development, management and implementation of WASH activities and any other emergency response interventions.
5. Project Development:
  •  Provide overall leadership, management and guidance to the development of project designs, Concepts and fundable proposals for WASH activities e.g. ECHO proposal writing for World Vision Finland (FPA holder), specifically coordinate subsequent  assessments for WV Finland and Proposal writing
  • Conduct project assessments as may be required
  •  Build, mentor and guide staff in design and development of projects on emergency response.
  • Review emergency response project documents and align them to DRR standards.
6. Advocacy, Networking and Influencing:
  • Actively participate in coordination meetings at national, cluster and camp levels.
  • Identify and build strategic linkages, relations, collaborations and networks with partners and other stakeholders in planning and implementation of emergency activities.
  • Facilitate the integration of Advocacy and justice for children in emergency response interventions.
  • Develop a data base of strategic networks and partnerships for advocacy within and outside the settlement
7. Child Protection: Ensure compliance to the child protection policy in all project interventions in accordance to the UNHCR Guidelines and WVU Child Protection policy
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Programme Manager-Hoima and WASH Manager.  
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The prospective World Vision employee in the aforementioned capacity should hold a bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Environmental Health, Civil Engineering or related field
  • At least three years’ experience or more in relief and development work
  • Prior experience in inclusive WASH for PLWD
  • Highly self motivated with excellent time management skills.

Job Summary: The Engineer II - Mechanical & Electrical Planning will offer mechanical and electrical planning support for existing and new MTN's facilities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The Engineer will be responsible for the design layouts of lighting, sockets, air conditioners on new installations
  • He /she will also do the dimension and ensure the right switching, control gear and all accessories forming part of the circuits
  • Monitor and record monthly load values at key installations
  • Project future power demand basing on the monthly load increments

Qualification Skills and Experience:
